What it means for you

  • Buyers: with 4 to 5 months of inventory in most areas, you can negotiate on condition dates and price, especially on homes that have sat 30+ days.
  • Sellers: pricing right from day one matters more than ever. Overpriced homes sit, and then sell for less. See GTA selling costs and get your personal seller review.
  • Rates: the Bank of Canada overnight rate was 2.3% in September, with posted 5-year fixed rates around 6.09%. Your actual rate depends on your lender and file.
